7th October, 2019 The United States President, Donald Trump has vowed to crush Turkish economy if they allow ISIS terrorists to regroup and retake liberated cities in Syria and Iraq and other Middle Eastern cities where they once held sway.
He also reminded Turkey that he had done it before, apparently referring to the period Turkish currency was taking a daily nosedive after it arrested American missionary Andrew Brunson which it accused of been a part of failed coup attempt of 2014. (Andrew was arrested in 2016.)
Washington responded by lashing Ankara with sanctions which nearly crumbled its currency lira. After much pressure, a court finally freed Andrew in August 2018.
