EDUCATIVE | ABANDONED PROPERTY IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE HEADED BY SEN. DAVID MARK SEVERED IGBO NATION

By Eze Nnanyereugo

The indigenes of Port-harcourt suffers from sever identity crisis, Ikwerre Diobu is an Igbo sub-group, just like any other Igbo group, “maka n’ asi na Igbo n’ asu na olu na olu” but after seizing the properties of their brothers from Igbo hinterland hiding under abandoned property implementation committee headed by David Mark, they suddenly became afraid of their Igboness, they don’t know their origin anymore, or their identity.

They tend to try to force themselves on Bini people cooking up one story or another as to how they are from Bini, how one Prince akalaka came down from Bini and founded their various communities.

How do you know a people? or where they re descended from, by their names, their surnames, name of their communities, name of their towns and streets, their markets, their norm, their cultures, their deities, e.t.c.

It’s amazing how Amanweke has become Rumuola, Umuigbo became Rumuigbo, Owerre Road became Ikwerre Road, Obigbo became Oyibo, e.t.c. perhaps the claim of not being Igbo is to escape the persecution policies against the Igbos in Nigeria or for acceptance in Nigeria.

The fact that 90% of the properties seized from the Igbos have been bought back is not debatable, the Igbos have remained the only people in Nigeria unconquered by the British/Fulani Caliphate, always standing up to them to challenge the injustices going on in Nigeria.

It is time for all Igbo groups to come together and establish a proper leadership in Igbo land, to steer their affairs in Nigeria, continuing in identity crisis will further alienate you, “Igaghi abu anu elu, Igaghi abu anu ala”

  1. Why did you leave out Saro Wiwa and his Ogoni people? You also excluded the Ijaws who stole more Igbo houses than other coastal indigenes.
